¡Ánimo, valiente!
DENIM CREATIVE RECYCLING
THE MANIFESTO
¡Ánimo, valiente! is that denim garment forgotten in the back of a closet that exploded and redesigned defies the boundaries of time.
It’s that denim garment with its expressive capacity expanded through the art of sophisticated processing and recycling.
It’s that piece of denim you can’t bear to part with and we transform and renew.
It’s that denim garment that preserves the essence of fabric on a new design.
It’s the belief in the multiple lives of a denim which has not had enough with one.
It’s unique, original and personal.
It’s the union of between denim and design.
Old = Potentially transformable!
Have courage! - ¡Ánimo, valiente!

ABURY Collection
ABURY is pioneering fashion by combining traditional, old world crafts with avant garde design to create a new luxury style that fosters intercultural exchange and preserves world crafts.
ABURY brings together exciting designers with traditional artisans from remote and inspiring cultures. This exchange of knowledge between the old world and the cutting edge allows for a new context to emerge, leasing crafts a new life and lending design an emotional component which has been missing in recent times. The designer is embedded in a craft culture for roughly three months to learn and share ideas from one another and to create a collection together, bringing the best of heritage knowledge and wisdom to high design and sustainable solutions.
But the ABURY cycle goes beyond this two way relationship, caring for the whole supply chain, we give back the same number of production hours in education hours for every product sold.

The core of the BARBARA I GONGINI brand DNA is centered on strength of individual and not on sex or sexual orientation, societal order or other normative pressures, but on playful imaginative tale of craftsmanship that breathes freedom of self-expression.

Bazofo Clothing
Bazofo is a word used in Cape Verdean Creole to describe someone with style and attitude. It is also a small, sustainable and ethical clothing brand from Cova da Moura, the biggest Cape Verdean community in Portugal.
Our handmade products are made by my aunty Alice. She lives and works 20 metres from my home. She’s a tailor and also employs locals in her atelier. I also work with other local tailors. There's a lot of talent in our community!
But this project would only make sense if our responsibility reached out beyond the limits of Cova da Moura. In terms of materials Bazofo is as sustainable and organic as possible.
Our white t-shirts are made in India using only recycled materials by a Finnish company called Pure Waste Textiles. They are printed in Portugal.
The handmade pieces are made of organic GOTS, OEKO-TEX® and OCS certified cotton and produced in Cova da Moura from the first to the last stitch. The African wax prints are from different sources.
