Of The Land
I am a one woman operation based out of Connecticut, formerly from Los Angeles. I primarily create women's ready to wear clothing by only using natural materials. I have a zero waste design process and work with found materials by upcycling and re-purposing.
I design and create clothing and accessories from start to finish: researching, sketching, pattern making, draping, and sewing. I also do all of my own business marketing and advertising from website to my handmade recycled paper business cards. I work out of my hoke studio in Connecticut which I just moved in from Los Angeles. I sell my work online and I am currently in one retail store, The Workspace Collective. I am a zero waste designer, so I try and incorporate all of the material into my design; any leftover scraps are saved for later projects. I only work with natural materials and like to incorporate textile manipulation like felting, use of rope and other hardware, embroidery and block printing. I also do custom work for clients and performers.
Oppi Design
Beautifully designed, intricately handmade babywear from ethically sourced fabrics. Every item bought also gives to family centred childcare in Mozambique via charity Tutela Africa
All Oppi baby clothes are made from ethically sourced fabrics: Organic, Fairtrade, fairlytraded (we use a supplier who works directly with a cooperative in India) and upcycled. Most Oppi products are 100% cotton. When we find beautiful wool or responsibly produced bamboo fabrics, we use these too. But we will only use natural fibres, because we believe they’re better next to babies skin. They breathe. They wick. They naturally cool and insulate.
We handmade everything in small batches in England, ensuring quality and uniqueness.
Every item bought supports family-centred childcare in Mozambique via our charity partner Tutela Africa.
