Nila Rubia
Nila Rubia follows a family line of traditional textile artists in Rajasthan, India. The art of hand block printing and supporting a small cottage textile industry is the main focus of Nila Rubia.
As a small independent family run business, we pride ourselves on supporting local communities and cottage industries in Rajasthan, India. We believe in being true to the ancient traditions and authentic textile techniques used in this region and do not believe in cutting corners to produce quantity.
Restoring ancient block print designs from Mughal ancestry and reviving the traditions are all a huge part of the designing process. Many prints have historical reference and depict a place, time and a community in the region. Nila Rubia researches and re-works these prints using unique colour combinations, creating a very subtle blend of East meets West. A classic, timeless, lifestyle brand with that extra individual touch and chic artisan fusion.
We guarantee all our fabrics are authentically made for Nila Rubia, hand crafted by skilled artisans who are paid fairly, work in good conditions with minimum impact on the environment.

Of The Land
I am a one woman operation based out of Connecticut, formerly from Los Angeles. I primarily create women's ready to wear clothing by only using natural materials. I have a zero waste design process and work with found materials by upcycling and re-purposing.
I design and create clothing and accessories from start to finish: researching, sketching, pattern making, draping, and sewing. I also do all of my own business marketing and advertising from website to my handmade recycled paper business cards. I work out of my hoke studio in Connecticut which I just moved in from Los Angeles. I sell my work online and I am currently in one retail store, The Workspace Collective. I am a zero waste designer, so I try and incorporate all of the material into my design; any leftover scraps are saved for later projects. I only work with natural materials and like to incorporate textile manipulation like felting, use of rope and other hardware, embroidery and block printing. I also do custom work for clients and performers.

Po-Zu
Shoes with a good sole
Modern footwear is surprisingly damaging in various ways. As the pace of fashion has quickened we’ve begun buying more shoes, and throwing them away more easily. Traditional shoe-crafting has given way to mass-production, eating up resources and sending an average of three pairs of shoes per person to landfill every year! The quest for cheaper and faster production has also encouraged the exploitation of vulnerable workers through long hours, low pay and dangerous working conditions.
Here at Po-Zu it is our mission to challenge this trend. We believe shoes should be things you fall in love with, and they should be created to last. We also believe you should be able to buy your shoes guilt-free, safe in the knowledge that they were created with love for people & planet.
